In the heart of Istanbul’s business area, we designed the interior of the Masar Insaat office. The space was limited; thus, we needed to plan it carefully to function effectively.

During the design process, we took into consideration the division of spaces according to two factors (as our client requested):

1. Privacy: therefore, the design process resulted in private offices, semi-private workplaces, and semi-public areas.

2. Different work departments: This resulted in having small zones that accommodate 1 to 2 workers, medium zones that accommodate 3-4 workers, and large zones for meetings and socializing that accommodate up to 12 workers.

We accomplish this goal by applying a focal element (the meeting room) and arranging the spaces around it following a dynamic circulation.

The space has one facade with windows، which makes it challenging to divide the area to allow daylight into the whole spot. However, we adopted two solutions to solve this problem. Firstly, we used glass divisions between the interior offices to let sunlight spread smoothly. Secondly, we designed a partially open floor plan in the center where the semi-public areas are to limit the barriers to natural light and minimize the use of walls and divisions.

As for finishes, we used traditional and modern materials like wood, brick, and glass, as this combination provides a warm and natural atmosphere.
